Wire Maintenance Program (Agreement)

Millington Telephone Company is responsible for the wiring up to the network interface device (NID) entry point into the home or business. The customer is responsible for all the wiring from the NID. The Wire Maintenance Agreement offers an optional Wire Maintenance Program subject to the following terms and conditions, to assist you in maintaining your inside wiring.

  • Our technicians will locate the service problem inside your home. If the problem is in the telephone cable wiring between the NID and your equipment, we will repair the inside wiring and outlets. All external wiring to the outside connection point will be covered provided the home owner has not modified the original installation.
  • The wire Maintenance Program does not cover:
    • Damage to inside wiring or outlets caused by the customer’s willful or negligent acts that result in damage to the inside wiring or outlets arising from willful or negligent acts of the customer’s guests, or pets;
    • Does not include installation of new jacks:
    • Inside wiring or outlets that do not meet industry standards for telecommunications services.
  • MTC has the right to limit the number of visits to a customer’s home to four (4) incidents per calendar year.
  • The terms and conditions of the Wire Maintenance Program are set at the sole discretion of MTC, and MTC may discontinue offering the Wire Maintenance Program at any time. Any change in these terms of conditions shall be in writing 30 days before any change is effective. Customers who do not wish to receive this plan under the revised changes, terms or conditions, may cancel their service at any time upon notice to MTC.
  • MTC will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations if such delay or nonperformance arises in connection with any acts of God, such as fires, floods, lightning, strikes or other labor disputes, unusually severe weather, acts of any governmental body, or other cause beyond our reasonable control.
  • For new MTC Customers, coverage is effective immediately without an additional service order charge. Existing customers will be subject to a $15.00 service charge. Customers may cancel the plan by contacting the MTC business office. See #7.
  • NOTE TO NEW CUSTOMERS: If MTC determines inside wiring or outlets do not meet industry standards for telecommunications services, additional charge may apply.

  • This is a one (1) year contract. Early termination of this contract will require a penalty fee of the remainder of the 12 months’ balance. After the one year has ended the service will then be considered as a month-to-month service and can be cancelled at any time with no further obligations.
  • There are no explicit or implied warranties of merchantability or warranties of fitness for a specific purpose offered with the plan. MTC’s liability for defective materials or workmanship is limited to repair or replacement of defective material and/or corrective service visit(s) for MTC owned equipment only.

The fee is $2.25 per line per month billable on your telephone bill.
